Xenome Strengthens Board with Two New Appointments

Brisbane, Australia, 6 August 2008: Biopharmaceutical company Xenome Limited ("Xenome") today announced a restructure of its board following the recent investment by GBS Ventures.

Joining the Board as an independent non-executive director is Jim Hazel.Ê He will assume the role of chairman following an upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), at which time current chairman Ian Sandford will retire from the board.ÊÊÊÊÊ

Jim has had an extensive career in banking and finance, including as chief general manager of Adelaide Bank Ltd. Until recently he was managing director of an ASX listed retirement village and aged care operation.

Jim has extensive experience as a board member.Ê He is a director of Terramin Australia Limited, Impedimed Limited and Becton Property Group Limited.Ê He is also chairman of Elders Rural Bank Limited and a board member of the Council on the Aging (SA) Inc.

Also joining the board as a non-executive director is Dr Andrew Baker.Ê Andrew joined specialist biopharmaceutical investment fund GBS in 2002 and has over 18 years experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including 14 years working with industry leaders Genentech, Bayer and Johnson & Johnson.Ê Prior to joining GBS he was Deputy Director of Johnson & Johnson Research in Sydney .Ê Andrew is a director of several biotechnology companies, including Verva Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Spinifex Pty Ltd, Cryptopharma Pty Ltd and Hatchtech Pty Ltd.

Resigning from the board are Lewis Lee and Dr Peter Myers after several years as non-executive directors.Ê Chairman Ian Sandford will remain in his position through to the EGM.
